Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Assistant Professor with appropriate academic qualifications and professional experience of flight operations and management.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of our highly successful undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses and portfolio of CPD opportunities, both in the UK and in locations overseas.

Ideally educated to at least Masters level or with appropriate professional qualifications and equivalent experience. Academically qualified individuals with an ATPL (no type rating or particular experience necessary) or aircraft engineering management experience (possibly with a PPL) would be particularly welcome. Teaching or training delivery experience is desirable, although the University will provide appropriate professional development for the right candidate. You will be able to demonstrate strong analytical, oral and written communication skills and effective team working ability.

You will need to share our passion for delivering apositive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning atthe heart of everything we do and be able to demonstrate significant knowledgein your area of specialisation. You must be willing to work flexibly to promote and support international partnerships, as well as be willing to potentially deliver teaching on site at one of our international partners for periods of up to two weeks at a time.

Successful candidates will be encouraged to become research active. Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, as well as participation in professional practice/consultancy will be advantageous.

The position is also open to candidates who wish to focus on teaching practice,development and management.
