The Faculty of Business and Law
The Faculty of Business and Law comprises of Curtin Law School and Curtin Business School; which ranks in the top ten business schools across Australia. It stands at the forefront of contemporary debate and analysis and strategic forecasting. Curtin Business School is recognised as an elite global business school through accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and offers a wide range of internationally recognised courses.
The School of Management
The School of Management is a large school within the Faculty of Business and Law, with over 60 full or part-time academic and professional staff. Additionally, the School houses the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy, and the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education. The School has four established discipline groups: Business Information Systems; Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Strategy and International Business; People, Culture and Organisation; and Supply Chain Management.
We aim to provide students with the skills they need to tackle managerial and leadership roles in a wide range of organisational settings. We’re engaged in the discovery and dissemination of management-related knowledge, with particular emphasis on developing diverse ideas, innovative and entrepreneurial approaches, and promoting lifelong learning through our research, industry links, and regional and global alliances. We continue to innovate in management education and research, focusing not only on the essential core areas but also on those of growing importance. Hence, we provide courses in fields as diverse as entrepreneurship, information systems and technology, and international business.
Your new role
We are seeking an experienced teaching and research focussed Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join the School of Management on a continuing basis.
As the successful candidate you will have a strong background in Corporate Sustainability, and ideally experience and/or interest in Disaster & Emergency Management (DEM) and/or Indigenous capability. You will contribute to the development and teaching of units including face-to-face and online delivery modes. Teaching excellence and effectiveness in identifying student needs, conducting activities that stimulate and foster student learning, and innovation in curriculum design and development of learning materials is imperative to your success in this position. You will need an established record of research outputs in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, it's expected to have a growing profile in teaching, research and service/leadership. You will work as part of a team providing innovation and excellence in teaching within the area of sustainability and human resources. You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate level units, and undertake supervision of postgraduate research students, conduct research, and undertake administrative duties.
You will bring to the role
- A doctoral qualification in Management and Corporate Sustainability or relevant discipline
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in the Global/Corporate Sustainability field and a reflective approach to teaching delivery
- An established record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals and outlets preferably in the Global/Corporate Sustainability field
- Experience and/or interest in Corporate Disaster and Emergency Management and/or Indigenous capability is desirable
- A desire to undertake academic service and leadership roles in the future

What we need from you
A cover letter, CV and you are encouraged to respond specifically to the selection criteria which can be found in the Academic Role Statement.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to prepare and deliver a 20 minute presentation on a topic of their choosing, which will be followed by a 15 minute Q&A.
