We are seeking a Research Associate, with a background in biomedical research who has exceptional organisation and written and verbal communication skills and is interested in developing a career in research management. The post is to support the project management and administrative elements of the new Bristol British Heart Foundation (BHF) Accelerator Award. The Research Associate Manager will assume responsibility for several of the Award’s key outcomes, including governance, grant reporting, research support, developing effective multi- and inter-disciplinary research collaborations, organising workshops, symposia and other research events, and managing the grant funds.
The post holder will be part of a team of researchers funded by the BHF Accelerator Award and related awards. The post holder will also join a wider team of professional services staff supporting the research activity of MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit and the Bristol Heart Institute. The aim of the Bristol Accelerator Award is to nurture multi- and inter-disciplinary collaboration and capacity building to address questions in two broad research areas (see job description). This will be achieved through the employment of a cohort of short- to medium- postgraduate research training fellows from multiple disciplinary backgrounds, the funding of pump-priming / pilot studies and running of workshops, symposia and training courses.
