Job description

The School of Language and Global Studies at the University of Central Lancashire wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Asia Pacific Studies to contribute to the academic development, course management, teaching, research development and scholarship within the School in the area of APS.

The successful applicant will have PhD (or near completion) in a related field or equivalent research experience.

Experience of teaching Asia Pacific Studies in a higher education environment is essential. The candidates must have extensive knowledge and expertise in the Asia Pacific region. A focus on Japan would be an advantage. An ability to teach and supervise dissertations up to Masters level, as well as an ability to undertake research and/or knowledge transfer, is also required.

The post-holder will have an excellent record of working as part of an academic team, excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as being IT literate and demonstrating a willingness to develop innovative teaching methods.
