The main purpose of this role is to support the development and operation of degree apprenticeship programmes in the School of Engineering at the University of Central Lancashire. The candidate will be working at both the Preston and Burnley campuses of the university.
The successful candidate will have a BEng or MEng in an area of mechanical engineering (or a related subject) and a PhD. He/she will support the School in delivering its commitments to teaching, research and knowledge transfer.
The post holder will support and help the secure the future operation and enhancement of the undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes. He/she should be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills, including the capability to motivate and support students and contribute to new course developments. A HE teaching qualification is preferred.
The role will involve: engagement in course leadership and development, teaching, research and knowledge transfer, contributions to new developments growing out of our existing courses in mechanical and manufacturing engineering and support for the development/use of distance learning and innovative teaching methods within the School.
Experience of teaching in HE, undertaking research and industry experience in engineering, are essential, supported by excellent team working and communication skills.
Applicants should meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Burnley, but the person must be flexible to work at the UCLan Preston campus if required.
