Job description
The School of Humanities at Coventry is currently hiring hourly paid lecturers (HPLs) to help deliver our portfolio of credit-bearing language courses to non-specialist language learners as part of Undergraduate degrees at Coventry University.
Courses are currently delivered by a mixture of permanent core teaching staff and HPLs, and are delivered as daytime classes (the earliest class starts at 9am; the latest class finishes at 6pm). Due to sustained and planned future growth in our offering we wish to expand our pool of part-time teachers.
We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals with expertise in delivery of language teaching in the following languages:
- Arabic
- French
- Italian
- Japanese
- Mandarin
- Spanish
Teaching takes place at the Coventry University campus in the Coventry city centre.
Commitment will vary according to the language taught, although typically this may be between 4-10 hours per week for typically 22 weeks per annum throughout the year.
Those interested must have a degree in a relevant subject and should have prior experience of teaching in the target language in a professional setting. A teaching qualification is also desirable. It is highly desirable, but not essential, that you be a native speaker.
If you are interested in joining our team, please submit an expression of interest via email, including an up-to-date CV, to Dr. Matthew Beedham at matthew.beedham@coventry.ac.uk or Tiziana Cervi-Wilson, at t.cervi@coventry.ac.uk. Applications will be considered immediately and on an ongoing basis.
