Job description

The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Sciences to lead and contribute to course management, course delivery and course development in this area and to undertake related research and knowledge transfer activities.

Working within a committed and enthusiastic team you will focus primarily on the Foundation programme within the School of Medicine with the scope to contribute to other courses in the Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences. You will contribute to the areas of course delivery and assessment within your subject discipline. You will also undertake income generation, research and knowledge transfer through relevant activities and undertake specific course leader responsibilities in related programmes.

You will hold a good honours degree in an appropriate health-related subject and be working towards a Masters/PhD. A teaching qualification and postgraduate qualification are not an essential requirement, but would be desirable.

Experience of teaching at level 3 and/or 4 in relevant subject areas; including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Scientific language skills is essential, along with experience of developing teaching and learning resources for this area and of delivering student assessments. You will have a commitment to continued professional development and of the University's strategy and values.

You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills; have an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships with other healthcare professions and NHS partners.
