Position overview

This position is under the broad direction of the Head of the University Counselling Centre. The core work of a student counsellor is the provision of psychological counselling services to students, including managing crises under supervision. You will also develop and present specialist group programs, workshops and seminars and participate in projects that contribute to the professional practice of the centre. In addition, you will have the skills and knowledge to provide advice and support to the ANU community on matters relating to students who are distressed and/or acutely unwell.

The ANU Counselling Centre also provides clinical supervision and training to ANU Psychology Clinical Masters and PhD students. Unconditional registration as a Clinical Psychologist and Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisory training that allows for unconditional AHPRA approved supervision for higher degree psychology students is desirable, but not a requirement of this position.
