The role

We are currently looking to recruit a Retention and Success Adviser on an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop a case-management approach in support of student success and retention. You will respond to, and case manage, concerns relating to students' academic, and/or wider welfare issues where there is a risk of withdrawal.

Who we are looking for 

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience gained in support roles, ideally in higher or further education and an understanding and experience of safeguarding those they work with. Candidates with relevant and transferable skills form social work, employability, community/adult education and relevant third sector organisations are also encouraged to apply.  

Candidates will ideally have experience in supporting individuals to fulfil their potential through a case management approach in support of student retention. 

 Candidates must evidence the essential criteria for the role, such as:

  • Demonstrable experience of providing a one to one support service 
  • Experience of responding to mental health and welfare issues with young people/students
  • Understanding of risk management and safeguarding
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work effectively, to manage own workload, and to balance competing demands in order to meet agreed deadlines.
  •  An understanding and respect for diversity, including the ability to engage with students from a wide range of cultures and with a range of support needs
