The University of Greenwich wishes to appoint a Research Fellow to join the Design, Manufacture and Innovative Products Group in the School of Engineering. The Group carries out research and consultancy in strategic issues across the whole life cycle of complex products including design, manufacture, maintenance and services focusing on new enabling technologies such as information and knowledge management, digital manufacturing, robotics and automation. The Group has a wide range of industrial collaborators including BAE Systems, Cummins Power Generation, Ford, Delphi, Edwards and many SMEs working on UK and EU funded projects.

The post holder will carry out research in any of the above topics, write or support new research proposals, publish high quality papers, supervise MSc and PhD projects, organise industrial workshops and academic conferences. The post holder will also assist the Group Leader in the preparation of documents for REF2021, and contribute to teaching in subjects related to product design, manufacture and research methodology. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in design and manufacturing engineering, systems or management, with good project management and communication skills, have strong research experience and high quality publications relevant to the theme of the research group. The appointment is full-time, fixed term for 3 years, starting as soon as possible.
