The Department of Architecture is inviting applications for tenure/educator track positions in landscape architecture for its Bachelor of Landscape  Architecture (BLA) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) programme. Multiple positions in tenure, education and professional practice tracks are available. These include lecturer, senior lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor and professor. Appointment will be made depending on qualifications and track record. Full time professor appointment will also be considered for direct appointment as a tenured professor and as Programme Director for the MLA programme.  

About the LA (BLA and MLA) Programme 
NUS offers a four-year, full-time degree of Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) and a two-year, full-time degree Master of Landscape Architecture programme (MLA). The fourth year of BLA is run concurrently with first year MLA and eligible and motivated students can be expected to graduate with a BLA and MLA within five years. The programme is hosted by the Department of Architecture, a leading architecture school in the region and the world ranked among the top ten in the world. Landscape architecture education in NUS is distinctively Asian and pantropical in its geographic attention, and urban in its emphasis. It is designed to provide a landscape architecture education that is sensitive to the myriad challenges facing Asian cities, as well as opportunities provided by the sheer richness of heritage and cultural, socio-economic and ecological elements of the region. 

The NUS MLA aims to train the next generation of landscape architects in practice and academia who will be stewards in shaping a livable, sustainable and resilient environment. Our graduates are expected to be able to navigate the demands of the profession, and the dynamism and challenges the environment presents. Roles and Responsibilities  
New faculty members appointed as lecturer/Senior lecturer/Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/ Professor are expected to contribute strongly to the teaching of the BLA/MLA programme, both in studio and non-studio courses, as well as the supervision of final-year capstone projects and dissertation projects. Specific subject areas to be taught will be considered in relation to the appointed faculty member’s expertise. In addition to teaching, the appointed faculty members are also expected to continue or mount a substantial research programme and contribute to the administration of the BLA/MLA and other programmes of the Department of Architecture.  

Required Qualifications
Applicants are required to have a MLA and/or PhD in landscape architecture of a closely related discipline. The applicant should have a strong track record in education, research/or practice, and be able to continue the trajectory leading to a tenured position. Applicant considered for MLA Programme Director must also have prior experience and track record in managing academic programmes and contribute to the roles stated above. The candidate must also have strong personnel management and communicative skills.

(v)    a Statement of Research (only for tenure position, maximum three pages) – citing up to five significant publications, creative work or other scholarly contribution and explaining their significance; 
(vi)    a list of six referees with contact details (who will be contacted only with your concurrence); and
