The Centre for Connected & Autonomous AutomotiveResearch within the Institute for Future Transport and Cities, CoventryUniversity is looking for a Research Fellow as part of the "PARK_IT" projectfunded by Innovate UK "Meridian 3: autonomous highway, rural and parking testfacilities (CAV TB2)". Park-IT will create the most advanced city parkingenvironment for testing connected and automated vehicles.

You will be part of a team of three research fellows. Underline management supervision and guidance of Dr Jesper Christensen, and in closecollaboration with project partners, you will contribute to research andconsultancy activity, prepare reports and deliverables within the Park-ITproject. In addition you will support the Centre's research, including thesubmission of funding bids with support from your line manager.

The duties of this post include developing and maintaining aparametric Geospatial Database (GD) for storing and manipulating datarepresenting a physical parking facility and surrounding environment. Thedatabase is likely to be constructed using commercial simulation software suchas IPG carmaker and utilise scripting for example via MATLAB and/or Python.Online access and functionality of the GD must be ensured in addition todeveloping a user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI).

Prior experience with systematic problem solving andscripting/programming ideally using MATLAB and/or Python is essential. Anautomotive relevant background combined with experience of using automotivesimulation environments such as IPG CarMarker or PreScan is desirable.

You will liaise with two other research fellows working onscenario generation and simulation (these are also being advertised) as well asmodelling and simulation of V2X connectivity to develop a digital twin of theParkIT facilities for CAV behaviour for automated parking being developed atHoriba-MIRA.

This will be a fixed-term contract until 31st August 2020.Salary is commensurate with experience and is competitive. Interestedcandidates should include a CV and brief summary of research accomplishmentswith their application.
