Overview:

Applications are invited for a Senior Research Nurse to lead on the OPTIMISE study (A prospective, real world pharmacovigilance study in Multiple Sclerosis) under the supervision of Dr Ruth Dobson (Clinical Senior Lecturer).

This post is to be based in the Preventive Neurology Unit (PNU), which has been set up with the aim of developing clinical trials to prevent neurological disease. It is part of the Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine, which has a focus on academic discipline, research, the translation of research into public health strategies and the practical implementation of such strategies – all dedicated to the reduction of disease and disability.

This role is primarily responsible for providing day-to-day leadership to all the OPTIMISE sites both on-site and remotely. This will include responsibility for study-related activities at QMUL/Barts Health, and site initiation visits and follow up at remote sites. The post-holder will be primarily based at Charterhouse Square, but will spend significant time at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, and in addition will need to travel to various UK sites.

Candidates should be RGN or equivalent and have significant post-registration experience as a research nurse. They must have excellent documentation and communication skills, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will require a DBS check.

The post is full time and fixed term for 36 months in the first instance. Starting salary will be in the range £37,411 - £44,015 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave and defined benefits pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.  The Centre for Cancer Prevention requires applicants to provide all certificates at interview to confirm their qualifications (as specified in the Job Description).
