Assistant Professor (PR0028/19-20)      

The Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University (http://mus.hkbu.edu.hk) invites outstanding applicants for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor specializing in music composition. 

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in music composition (PhD degree or equivalent) from a top-tier university with some collegiate-level teaching experience. Preference will be given to those with expertise in interdisciplinary research involving creative media, well-being and the public good and technology.

The appointee is expected to have a vibrant track record of innovation in research and a strong record of commissions from reputable professional organizations. Other major awards/prizes will be deemed desirable.

The appointee will be an active member in the Department and Faculty-level administration, including (but not limited to) quality assurance; curriculum development; academic advising; supervision of undergraduate Honours Projects and postgraduate research; and active participation in student recruitment, juries and auditions.

The appointment is offered on a tenure-track. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
