Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Talent & Resourcing Manager to join an experienced and passionate team of Talent and Resourcing Consultants, shaping the future of this function at Edinburgh Napier University. Since centralising our recruitment activities two years ago, we are looking for someone to drive, develop and embed our strategies in line with the University's on-going strategy, values and behaviours.

Edinburgh Napier University is a forward thinking institution, home to forward-thinking people, inspired by the world around them. Recruitment sits within the Human Resources team in our People and Services Directorate. The team work very closely with staff and managers across our Schools & Professional Service areas to provide a high quality, customer focused recruitment service.

The role

As the Talent & Resourcing Manager, you will strategically lead on our Talent and Resourcing agenda, ensuring you are optimising our current processes whilst embedding process improvements and delivering an excellent customer and candidate recruitment journey.

You will develop and lead an overall talent attraction strategy ensuring we are embedding innovative approaches to attracting top talent which aligns to the Universities overall strategy, values and behaviours.

As an experienced people manager, you will lead a team of consultants developing and motivating the team through consistently providing expert knowledge, championing best practice and guiding them through SMART objectives.

This is a fantastic opportunity which will allow you to drive change and make a positive impact across the whole University.

Who we are looking for

You will be a passionate recruitment professional, who has significant hands on and leadership experience within an in-house function.

You will be a strong communicator with the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a resilient approach to delivering the most effective solutions whilst driving change. Your focus will be on delivering excellent customer service and consistently developing delivery improvements such as time to hire, manager satisfaction and candidate experience.

You must demonstrate the following:

  • Degree or CIPD/MIRP qualification with evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Significant experience within and/or leading an in-house recruitment, resourcing or talent function
  • Demonstrable experience using and designing innovative solutions to attraction challenges

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience of writing and managing papers/ proposals or strategies for high level boards or committees.
  • Desire to work as part of a bigger team who work together to achieve broader goals
  • An empathy with and understanding of the key recruitment and attraction challenges facing the University sector.
