Student Administration Manager
Division/School School of Physiology, Pharmacology & Neuroscience
Contract type Fixed Term Contract
Working pattern Full time
Salary £33199 to £37345 per annum
Closing date for applications 04-Aug-2019
An opportunity has arisen for an additional Student Administration Manager within the School of Physiology, Pharmacology & Neuroscience on a fixed term contract.
The school is looking to appoint an additional Student Administration Manager for one year, to work alongside the existing Student Administration Manager and carry out specific identified project work to streamline processes and procedures across the school. This role will also work very closely with the School Education Director and teaching staff to consider areas for change and improvement in order to drive forward a reduction in teaching administration work for both academic and administration staff. The role will also be required to carry out some specific administration for our new MSci programmes starting in September 2019.
You will have experience of working in a relevant office environment, with significant student administration experience. You will be able to demonstrate where you have instigated and led improvements and changes within an administration environment.
You will be required to investigate and be creative, liaising with other schools to consider best practice and use the most up to date IT tools being brought online by the University.
You will work with the existing Student Administration Manager to support the Student Administration team through these changes.
You will be able to work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues across the university. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, be efficient and adaptable and used to working in a busy and complex environment. You will be able to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines, have experience using a range of student administration systems and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly. You will be highly analytic and be able to generate credible recommendations from data and persuade senior managers to adopt changes.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing a high level of support to students is essential.
We appreciate and value difference and are therefore seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading universities. We particularly encourage applications from men who are under-represented in the Professional Services Administrative Teams.
This is a full-time role due to the size of the school, and student numbers.
