Applications are invited for the post of Horticultural Technician in the technical team of the School of Biological Sciences

The post is based within the glasshouse facilities of the School of Biological Sciences providing practical horticultural support and services for research and teaching activities.

The role involves maintaining the facilities, growing materials, providing advice and sharing expertise with other users. Includes assisting other technical staff, researchers and students with projects, advising on resource planning, process and disposal. Working on both the glasshouse site on the north A30 campus and the School on the main campus.

You will have experience in a horticultural background with working knowledge of plant pests, diseases and general health. With experience of growing materials in a research or controlled environment and the use of associated environmental control systems. Knowledge of appropriate waste disposal routes, treatment of plant and chemical waste is essential, as is experience with computers and accurate record-keeping.

This is a full-time post, available from 5th August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter for a fixed term period of 5 months until the end December 2019, to cover a period of absence. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
