The Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment invites exceptional professionals to apply for the assistant director for external partnerships position. The assistant director for external partnerships will work with Andlinger Center leadership to design and execute initiatives aimed at expanding membership and partner opportunities. The incumbent will oversee critical programs intended to curate and cultivate a vibrant community geared towards finding innovative solutions to the complex challenges related to energy and the environment.

The assistant director will work to engage faculty, researchers, and students to identify and articulate innovative research and development projects, with an emphasis on technical innovation between the faculty and corporate partners. In support of the associate director for external partnerships, the incumbent will manage the Princeton E-ffiliates Partnership, a program which enables collaboration across academic, industry, and policy sector. As the scientific liaison and strategic manager identifying research collaborations and partnerships, the assistant director will seek prospective corporate members, cultivate relationships and solicit engagement. The assistant director for external partnerships will serve as the primary contact for corporate partners and will be responsible for their growth and stewardship; develop annual plans of research engagement and manage the intellectual design and goals of such programming. The assistant director for external partnerships will draw from increasing circle of engagement to enhance interactions with government agencies and non-profit organizations. The assistant director for external partnerships will partner closely with the assistant director for research to leverage center-wide research in building corporate partnerships. This Dean of Faculty position will hold the rank of professional specialist.

The successful candidate draws upon experience in the academic science and engineering research environment with a focus on the energy and environmental sectors to cultivate relationships with and among academic research groups and external scientists and engineers. A strong science and engineering background will help to navigate research areas and academic structures. Advanced degree in related science or engineering field; 6-8 years' experience in relevant field; strong experience translating dynamic faculty research into collaborative, integrated relationships with external sources; knowledge of energy-related technologies and interest in technological developments preferred; excellent interpersonal and written communications skills a must, with the ability to convey scientific knowledge across technical and general populations.
