The University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Research Fellow with excellent communication skills, a strong background in Higher Education research in schools and colleges, and project management experience to take a leading role in the evaluation of LiNCHigher’s OfS funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme 2019-2021*.

Now in its second phase of operation, the principal aim of the programme is to determine the extent to which the views of young learners from traditionally low participation backgrounds towards Higher Education can be influenced and changed and aspirations raised within the context of what intervention and support works for them and why.

Working primarily with young learners attending schools and colleges across the region, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the evaluation progresses in accordance with the existing Evaluation Management Plan in a timely manner and within budget, leading on the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data arising from surveys and case-studies in order to measure the effectiveness of a range of educational activities and their anticipated benefits.

In addition to liaising with partner organisations and other key stakeholders, the role will also include responsibility for ensuring that findings can be shared in order to make a positive contribution to the production of a high-quality evidence-base surrounding capability building both regionally and nationally.

The post holder will be based within the Lincoln Higher Education Research Institute (LHERI) at the Brayford Campus and responsible for undertaking and completing the majority of work involved in the evaluation itself, managing budgets and reporting outcomes at a variety of strategic levels on a regular basis. The role will involve working to tight deadlines and regular travel across Lincolnshire and beyond. A DBS check will also be required.
