Department of Systems Management and Strategy

Location:  Greenwich
Salary:  £33,199 to £38,460 plus £3640 London weighting per annum pro rata
Part Time Hours:  0.8
Contract Type:  Permanent
Closing Date:  Monday 05 August 2019
Interview Date:  To be confirmed

As part of our on-going development strategy, the University Of Greenwich is seeking a Teaching Fellow in Project Management. The role is offered as a 0.8 FTE (full time equivalent) and is based in the department of Systems Management and Strategy in the Faculty of Business. The Business Faculty, based in the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich - a UNESCO World Heritage site - has a strong commitment to diversity and internationalism and this is reflected in our staff and student profiles.

The Department of Systems Management and Strategy has a wide portfolio of undergraduate programmes in the general area of business studies with specialisations in strategy, decision making, project management, operations, entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainable development and responsible planning and management. The Department also runs a Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and an Executive MBA programme. There are strong research teams within the department which provide research that is of significance to businesses, the society and environment, urban ecosystems and the circular economy.

This post would suit doctoral candidates towards the end of their studies that want to enhance their teaching experience in pursuit of a more substantial academic position. A successful applicant would be given the opportunity to engage with research if they wish to further enhance their profile and future career opportunities, but this does not constitute a requirement for the post.

The position offers opportunities for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and enables an ambitious candidate to play an important role in the shaping of the future development of the department’s approach to its curriculum design. We are particularly looking for candidates that enjoy teaching subjects relating to project management as well as other relevant business and decision making topics. Applicants need to be confident in developing inspiring module materials and learning activities within a blended learning environment and providing excellent student support and pastoral care.
