POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION IN STATISTICS

Responsibilities

We are looking for a full-time postdoctoral researcher (one year position) for the period 2019 – 2020 to conduct research in statistics. The position is to be taken up as soon as possible. 

The research will be conducted in the context of a research grant under guidance of Profs. Gerda Claeskens and Irène Gijbels. This research is in the area of mathematical statistics, and focuses on nonparametric and semiparametric techniques for flexible modeling in multidimensional statistics, and examples of research topics are dependence modeling, variable and model selection, post-selection statistical inference. You will find a very dynamic and pleasant working environment, in a group that conducts research at the highest international level. 

Profile

Candidates should have a very strong interest in statistics, econometrics, or mathematics and preferably have a background as Master of Science in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Economics, Business Engineering, Economics, Civil Engineering or Computer Science. Candidates should have obtained a PhD in Statistics (preferably mathematical statistics). A very decent knowledge of written and spoken English is required.  

Offer

We offer an employment as full-time postdoctoral researcher for one year.
