About the role
The Program Manager, Curation & Innovation, will lead the curatorial team and coordinate activities and programs to ensure the effective operations and management of the Special Collections within deadlines and budget constraints. The role will be responsible for the delivery of a suite of dynamic contemporary programs which promote the special collections and enhances the student experience by supporting research and learning and teaching in both physical and digital environments.
Reporting to the Manager, Cultural Collections (University Archivist), you will lead and co-develop experimental and interpretive strategies that enhance the visibility and use of the Special Collections, through exhibitions, object-based learning activities, and other associated programs. Focusing on the user experience (CX) within the research and academic context, as Program Manager, Curation & Innovation, you will ensure a coordinated and engaged team contributes to strategic goals, utilising tools and technology to manage and promote the special collections and build on academic opportunities and partnerships in new and innovative ways.
You will have:
- A relevant post-graduate qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Significant experience in developing and delivering innovative curated programs within a public and/or academic context, including concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in education, academic learning environments, blended learning approaches, and/or galleries/museums.
- Leadership skills and experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
- Proven track record in sound financial planning and budget management.
- Understanding of Human-Centred Design and User Experience Design is desirable.
