As a member of the Russell Group of UK research-intensive universities, Queen's University Belfast combines excellence in research and education with a student centred ethos.
This post is available for 12 months (full-time) in thefirst instance with possible extension, depending on available funds. The primary role is to perform research on conducting domain walls inferroelectrics, to probe the fundamental physics of transport. The post has been funded as part of a large (GBP 2.2M) Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Critical Mass Grant, in which the nanoscale ferroelectrics research group in Queen's University Belfast are collaborating with equivalent teams in the universities of St Andrews, Cambridge and Warwick. The research is also strongly aligned with an ongoing US-Ireland R&D programme (involving QUB, the University of Limerick and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln) on domain wall engineering for novel electronics.
