Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging

Applications are sought for two Clinical Research Fellows at the Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging of the William Harvey Research Institute, which also sits within the NIHR Barts Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Centre. These posts are intended to generate clinical research outputs towards innovation/improvement of cardiac imaging procedures to increase value to patients with cardiovascular disease, towards peer-reviewed publications and may become the basis for the award of a higher degree at Queen Mary University of London. It is expected that the Clinical Research Fellows once in post would help seek funding (e.g. charity funded fellowships) to cover her/his salary to allow completion of a higher degree.

The facilities will be offered by the Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, William Harvey Research Institute and the Cardiac Imaging department of the Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. The Barts Heart Centre is the largest single cardiovascular practice in the UK and among the top largest cardiovascular practices in Europe and United States.

Essential requirements for the role include medical degree or equivalent qualification. The successful candidates will be required to work flexibly which may include early start/late finish, or occasionally weekends.

The posts are full time, fixed term for 24 months (starting as soon as possible but no later than December 2019). Starting salary will be in the range £32,569 - £41,300 per annum plus £1,470 London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

The successful candidates will be require a Standard DBS check.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
