Starting Salary: £21,269.60 per annum, full time equivalent £53,174 per annum
Annual Leave: 14 days per annum, full-time equivalent 35 days per annum
Building on the courses St Mary’s already offers in Business, Communications, Law, Politics, Public Policy and Communications, the School of Business and Society is working with business leaders to create an alternative model of business education. The School of Business and Society will focus on an integrated approach to work and study; encouraging a commitment to sustainable success; the enabling the development of lifelong relationships; and an approach to ethics that will prepare students to take difficult decisions.
The School also aims to be in the vanguard for business-related courses taken on a part-time basis or taken later in life if and when the market for these develops.
The person appointed will teach marketing and will develop undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in marketing. The post-holder will undertake original research, will disseminate research and will be expected to keep up-to-date with the subject area to ensure that teaching remains at the cutting edge. The post-holder will be involved in and help lead professional development courses and supervise student projects and act as a supervisor for PhD students.
We invite applications from candidates with a professional background in marketing with prior significant experience of higher education teaching. It is essential that the candidate has good presentational skills and business experience. The candidate must be professionally qualified and understand the professional bodies and their qualifications well enough to advise on how to ensure that professional accreditations of degrees in marketing remain fully up to date.
