We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team for 12 months, as a lecturing member of staff. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who will contribute to our laboratory and field teaching in hydrology, hydrologically-based used of GIS and water resource science. The individual would have time to develop their own active research within the School, as well as contributing to teaching delivery and development.
You should have a PhD in hydrology, environmental science, physical geography or a related field, and teaching experience. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about teaching and teaching development, particularly in hydrology and the water sciences. As well as an interest in teaching development you should be undertaking active research in your specialist area.
Experience in digital mapping technologies, e.g. GIS, hydrological modelling etc. is desirable, as is experience of leading field courses and developing teaching material. You will be able to show evidence of good communication skills both with colleagues and students, and be willing to undertake residential field teaching, and be able to drive forward your own work.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior researcher to gain teaching and research experience in an international team.
Salary will be paid at the rate of £40,792 per annum on Grade 7 of the University Salary Scale. the appropriate point on the Grade Select Grade salary scale and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and a period of probation. and a 12 month probation period.
