Assistant Lecturer in Medical Humanities in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 497097) (to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Medical Humanities, preferably in the area of social issues in healthcare (such as ageing and mental health), with at least 3 years’ work experience in tertiary education.  Recent experience in managing teaching programmes would be an advantage.  Applicants should also have excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills; and demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently, and as part of a team on a variety of projects.

The appointee will report to the Director of Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit (MEHU), and will work closely with the core teaching team of Medical Humanities to deliver teaching with innovative pedagogical approaches in the field.  He/She will be responsible for assisting in curriculum development, conducting tutorials (including tutorials of Common Core Courses offered by MEHU), facilitating workshops, and supervising teaching assistants.  The appointee is also expected to undertake administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of MEHU. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
