Murdoch is building a University fit for the future, with two new Colleges designed to foster cross-disciplinary academic expertise.

The discipline of psychology runs undergraduate Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science psychology courses in the Perth campus, as well as in Singapore and Dubai. The research strengths of the psychology discipline at Murdoch University are cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, physiology of pain and clinical psychology. Our research is conducted in the new Mind Body lab equipped with electro encephalogram (EEG), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and other physiological measures, as well as numerous testing areas for cognitive and behavioural measures.

The Role

Murdoch University is searching for a Lecturer in Psychology, with a passion for continued research and development in the field. Be an active part of the university’s teaching and learning community delivering lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and supervision of honours and postgraduate students.

Skills and Experience

The appointed Lecturer in Psychology will:

  1. Hold a PhD in Psychology.
  2. Registration as psychologist in the Psychology Board of Australia.
  3. Experience in teaching or research in the area of psychological assessment.
  4. A proven record of success in producing high quality independent research outputs that have international impact and influence.
  5. A proven record of success in attracting external competitive research funding that has national and/or international impact.
  6. Experience in successfully supervising honours, Masters by Coursework, HDR or postgraduate students to completion.
  7. A passion for teaching and commitment to engage with contemporary approaches to curriculum and pedagogy including related technologies.
  8. Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team.
  9. Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communication skills in English.
