REGISTERED NURSE-PEDIATRICSMIT Medical, to provide nursing care to MIT Medical’s pediatric patient population. Will provide direct patient care according to age-specific plans of care that is within the scope of practice of a registered nurse; perform duties using the principles of telephone and waiting room triage; utilize established guidelines in response to each patient’s needs; access data, interpret age-specific needs, and provide nursing care in collaboration with others; and play a critical role in providing health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT medical.

MIT Medical, an accredited ambulatory care center serving MIT’s health and wellness needs, conducts approximately 120,000-plus visits annually. Its clinical offerings encompass more than twenty specialties and provides occupational and employee health services, community wellness programs, and seven-day-a-week urgent care.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN license in Massachusetts; CPR certification; at least three years’ experience as an RN in pediatrics; fluency with EMR systems (Cerner preferred); experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access; ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to staff, patients, families, and external customers; ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and policies and use them in complex and varied situations; ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure patients receives optimal clinical care; and ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training.  Experience as a school nurse a plus.
