Senior Technical Officer, Specialist
FACULTY OF SCIENCE, MEDICINE AND HEALTH
- Fixed term, part-time appointment (3 year, 0.6FTE)
Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI)
We are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated, flexible and multi-skilled individual to join the IHMRI team. Established in 2008, IHMRI is a joint initiative of the University of Wollongong and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. Reflecting this partnership, IHMRI provides an independent medical research environment to bring academics and clinicians together to solve broadly relevant health problems.
In 2018, IHMRI established a new Electrophysiology Facility for Cell Phenotyping and Drug Discovery (E-Phys core) featuring the state-of-the-art patch-clamp robot, the Nanion SynchroPatch 384PE. To ensure ongoing success and growth of the facility, a specialised Technical Services Officer is required to continue managing the facility and to run the SynchroPatch.
This position will be filled under the usual employment arrangement with the University of Wollongong, however the incumbent will be seconded to work in the role within IHMRI Limited and will be accountable to the IHMRI Executive Director and Board. The secondment will be governed by an individual secondment agreement signed between the incumbent, the UOW and IHMRI Ltd.
You will be prompted to respond to the selection criteria as part of the online application process.
