VIDEO PRODUCTION MANAGER, MIT Open Learning, to lead the day-to-day management and execution of all field and studio productions for MIT Video Productions (MVP).  Will provide the direction and implementation for training production staff, stay current with production techniques, and identify operational efficiencies in order to optimize team utilization; provide outstanding customer service throughout the client journey with the goal of creating a frictionless experience in the delivery of MVP’s production services; interface with clients throughout the MIT community; and serve as a key member of MVP’s management team, providing input to the director on strategic planning and development of MVP’s next generation of products and services to best serve the MIT community. Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the daily execution of all field video and studio productions (on average, three to seven productions per day, but can be up eight to twenty during peak times); scheduling staff and production equipment packages; supporting the client service manager in creating estimates for MVP client production services; the ongoing recruitment of freelance staff; implementing training for MVP production staff and freelancers to ensure production continuity; recommending  and overseeing upgrades to MVP’s production equipment; and providing reporting and updates to MVP director on the health of MVP production staffing and operations.  Will directly support field productions, serve as studio director, technical director, and defacto video engineer for installed MVP productions on an as-needed basis.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in related film, video production, or communications area; and at least five years of professional video production and production management experience, preferably in an academic video production unit.  Job #17635-10
