An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Freedom of Information practitioner to join our team.

The Information Compliance Officer (freedom of information) will be a key member of the Information Compliance Unit at the University of Surrey. The successful candidate will manage the University’s day to day obligations under Freedom of Information and related legislation.

We are looking for someone with experience of dealing with FOI/DPA compliance issues within the public sector, ideally in Higher Education. You will need to possess exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and will be able to communicate complex matters simply and concisely to staff at different levels across the University, as well as third parties such as the Information Commissioner’s Office. You will need to be educated to degree level or have equivalent broad vocational experience and have the ability to use your knowledge of relevant legislation and experience to answer queries and provide advice.
