Skoltech is recruiting a highly motivated internationally recognized Faculty member for the position of Program Manager of a newly established Agrotechnologies Program. This position will be affiliated with Center for Life Sciences. https://crei.skoltech.ru/cls

The candidate should hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in biology, biotechnology, genetics or bioinformatics. He/she should have substantial expertise in plant or animal genetics or other related areas such as agriculture, plant or animal breeding, and food safety. The candidate should have a proven track-record of running independent, sustainable research and educational programs. In addition, the candidate should have also demonstrated success in working with academic centers and other industry focused groups in particular with leading Russian agricultural scientific centers (Vavilov Plant Breeding Institute, All-Russian Animal Husbandry Institute, Dokuchaev Soil Science Institute, etc.).

The program manager is expected to lead multidisciplinary team of professionals focusing on Digital Agriculture and Agrotechnologies and to mentor and educate MS and PhD students. Agrotechnologies program is planned to be established in 2019 with a focus along research areas: Digital Agriculture, Agrotechnologies, Agrobiotech. The need for such program is influenced by two key factors: (1 ) a  rapidly increasing level of research capacities and competences in biotech and data science in Skoltech; and (2) a high demand for applied research and highly qualified workforce coming from Russian agricultural businesses. During 2016-2018 Skoltech has already developed strong relations with leading Russian agricultural companies through executing of joint R&D projects.
