INFORMATION ABOUT ROLE
As part of the Capital Projects Team within the Estates and Facilities Directorate, you will be responsible for the successful completion of a diverse range of projects for the University. This includes development (both new build and refurbishment) maintenance, engineering and infrastructure projects, typically over £5m in value.
You will act as the QMUL client delivering first class projects, forming the necessary links between all parties involved. You will ensure effective and efficient project management from inception to completion and handover, meeting or exceeding briefs, budget control and delivery of quality products.
One exciting project you will lead is the development of our new £62m School of Business and Management beside the Regents Canal on our Mile End campus. This 8000m2 building, designed by Nicholas Hare Architects, is currently at RIBA Stage 3 and scheduled to complete in 2022.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience in property, construction, engineering or project management, have thorough knowledge of construction project management, contract administration and the operation of building contracts. This will be supported by substantial and demonstrable experience in the planning and delivery of major construction projects in complex organisations.
The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range : £46,489 - £51,899 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, plus a £12,000 market supplement and £3,000 enhancement on completion of 12, 24 & 36 months service (enhancement to be reviewed after 3 years).
