The Business School is in an exciting and ambitious phase of its development. While proud of the University’s 500-year history, the Business School is a core part of the University’s plans for the future and is committed to increasing its profile. In order to facilitate its further growth and development, the Business School is now a stand-alone unit within the University. The Business School comprises several related disciplines: Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Management and Real Estate.

The Finance discipline at the University of Aberdeen Business School is an extremely active, lively, friendly and dynamic environment. It has eleven full time academic members, after a period of growth that has seen an investment of four new posts in the past year.

The Business School is looking to appoint a Lecturer (Scholarship) in Finance. The post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of twelve months (ideally August 2019 to July 2020) to help cover the teaching needs in the School.

We are seeking a candidate who can cover core teaching areas in Finance, with a preference in teaching on corporate finance and quantitative finance, particularly to a diverse set of students.

Effective and innovative teaching are key aspects of the post.

For appointments at Lecturer level, salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale (£40,792 - £48,676 per annum).

As this post is cover a period of teaching within the Business School, this post will be available for 12 months.
