One of Australasia's largest specialist medical colleges, ANZCA, which includes a Faculty of Pain Medicine, is responsible for the training, examination and specialist accreditation of anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists and for the standards of clinical practice in Australia and New Zealand. The College serves over 8000 anaesthetists and pain medicine physicians (fellows) and around 2000 trainees with a further 130 specialist international medical graduates participating in the ANZCA continuing professional development program. The College also plays a significant role in the advancement of anaesthesia in south-east Asia and South Pacific island countries.

ANZCA is seeking an outstanding individual to be their new Director of Education. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, John Ilott, the Director will lead the College in the formation and implementation of educational principles, strategies, programs, policies and products ensuring appropriate governance, staffing and volunteer resources. The successful candidate will provide leadership to an Education Unit staff of 35. To be successful in the role the Director will need to effectively engage with fellows, trainees, committees, vendors, staff and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in leading and nurturing teams focused on the development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs. He or she will have graduate qualifications in education, teaching or psychology. Excellent people management, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and balance projects from both an educational and financial perspective will be critical.
