Role Description

Cranfield is an exclusively postgraduate university that is a global leader for education and transformational research in technology and management.

The HR & D service provides a framework for the management and development of our people and organisation which underpins the University’s strategic plan and objectives.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused HR professional to join our busy team, supporting a Senior HR Business Partner. You will deliver a HR partnering service to key customers across the University and also be an ambassador for HR & D change initiatives across a range of professional service units.

In this role you will manage a varied employee relations portfolio proactively coaching and supporting managers with matters such as disciplinary and grievance cases, attendance, wellbeing and performance issues. You will provide advice and guidance on university policies and procedures. You will be responsible for developing key recruitment campaigns; working with our HR Service Centre to deliver a positive candidate experience. In addition to this you will also contribute to wider University HR & D initiatives, including input to policy and procedures, and delivery of key projects as required.

You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills, a good knowledge of employment law and demonstrate a proactive, flexible approach to your work. You should have the ability to prioritise effectively and to cope under pressure and be resilient at busy times whilst keeping to deadlines.  Excellent team-working skills and a focus on customer service are also essential.  You will be CIPD qualified and have proven experience operating at HR Business Partner level.

For an informal discussion, please contact Jacqui O’Donnell, Senior HR Business Partner on +44 (0)1234 75 8281 or (E); Jacqui.ODonnell@cranfield.ac.uk.

At Cranfield, we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.
