The School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol wishes to appoint 2 Programme Administrators. The posts are full time, with fixed term funding until 31 May 2020 (available immediately).

This post supports the National Learning Disabilities Mortality Review Programme funded by NHS England and based at the Norah Fry Centre for Disability Studies, within the School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol. The aim of the programme is to help improve the quality of health and social care service delivery for people with learning disabilities and to reduce premature mortality and health inequalities in this population, through national and local mortality case review. The programme supports localities across England to review the deaths of all people with learning disabilities aged 4 years and over. The findings from the reviews enable health and social care professionals, commissioners and policy makers to identify learning and make recommendations to reduce the overall burden of excess premature mortality for people with learning disabilities; identify variation and best practice; and make service improvements.

The post-holder must be able to work quickly and accurately. Some of the data will contain information likely to have considerable emotional content, so resilience and a positive approach to life are essential. You should have proven hands-on experience of cleaning and handling data, in particular large datasets; up-to-date knowledge of data protection and data security issues; experience of taking ownership of problems and resolving them successfully; and a commitment to working constructively both individually and as part of a team. You should also have a good standard of general education, to at least NVQ Level 3 standard in English and maths or equivalent.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 30 June 2019.

For informal enquiries, please contact Andy Wistow, Programme Manager, LeDeR Programme (tel: 0117 3310872 or email: Andy.Wistow@bristol.ac.uk).

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
