Job description

The ESF funded Leading Lancashire project is a consortium of 11 regional partners made up of FE Colleges, Universities and a Chamber of Commerce, led by UCLan. The aim of the project is to develop and enhance the leadership and management skills of individuals employed in Lancashire SMEs.

The Consortium Manager will oversee the effective planning, implementation, delivery, evaluation and completion of a large and complex GBP 7.8m partnership project, delivering education and skills programmes to over 4200 individual participants. This will involve working with the project delivery partners to ensure the project activity: -

  • meets the needs of the participants
  • meets the internal and external quality and reporting requirements
  • meets agreed profiled financial and output targets
  • meets agreed project milestones and deadlines
  • maximises the impact of the available budget

The Consortium Manager will support the strategic and operational governance structure of the project, involving effective communication and advice to senior leaders and operational managers from the delivery partners.

With significant and demonstrable experience of successfully managing large, complex projects, including budget management and reporting of actuals, the successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent. Essential skills for success in this role include, organisation, negotiation, influencing, accuracy and the ability to maintain oversight and control over a large number of initiatives.
