RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE 1, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, to support the Birnbaum and Gifford laboratories.  The research projects will utilize a combination of protein engineering, molecular biology, and machine learning.   Will provide basic technical support for researchers and their projects by conducting yeast display experiments; creating new DNA constructs via PCR and related techniques; performing protein preparation; preparing and analyzing sequencing data; performing prep work for experiments; and conducting standard lab techniques and functions to support the lab and/or research project or protocol.  Additional responsibilities include general laboratory upkeep and support.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a high school diploma or its equivalent; exposure to a research lab; computer skills; training in hands-on equipment maintenance; practiced documentation skills; excellent organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail; a commitment to exceeding quality standards, providing exceptional services, and producing accurate and high-quality; and an awareness of safe work practices and the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
