ASSISTANT MANAGER, EVENING AND WEEKEND OPERATIONS, Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER)-Facilities, to team with the evening and weekend events manager to coordinate facilities and evening and weekend operations.  Will support the day-to-day operations related to the safety of DAPER facilities, event support, security, and general programming for indoor and outdoor facilities; provide leadership and management for evening and weekend operations; function as part of the DAPER operations team in the stewardship of department supported programs, services, buildings, and facilities; coordinate and supervise the DAPER facilities team and the Department of Facilities in providing high quality setup, management, repair, maintenance, and custodial support as needed; serve as liaison during evening and weekend shifts; and implement the MIT Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system in assigned areas and ensure that facilities and staff meet or exceed all applicable EHS requirements.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in athletics or recreation; a minimum of two years’ experience in facility management and special events; a valid driver’s license; current first aid, CPR, and AED certification or willingness to obtain; experience supervising personnel, with routine building and field maintenance, and in customer service; computer skills; ability to work in a team-oriented environment relative to facility and event management; strong problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills; and in-depth understanding of athletics and recreation with direct experience functioning in support of events.  Job #17608-7

Salary: low to mid $60s

The schedule for the position is Saturday to Wednesday, 3:30 to 11:30 P.M. during the academic year and 1:30 to 9:30 P.M. during the summer.
