About the role

The School of Environment, Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint an outstanding engineer to lead innovative undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in civil engineering (preferably based in the structural engineering field) as part of a growing, systems-focused engineering team. The appointee will be responsible for the academic leadership of the School’s engineering team, working closely with the Head of School and the Deputy Head of School to ensure that the academic performance of engineering staff is aligned with School objectives.

Key aspects of the position include monitoring and improving the program’s teaching and learning performance, working closely with Course Coordinators and guide the development of quality academic course materials and assessments.

About you

You will hold a relevant doctoral qualification and bring to this role a successful record of academic and administrative leadership.

Your experience will demonstrate your strengths in people management, communication and inspiring excellence amongst your colleagues. As well as your ability to foster positive relationships and engagement with relevant industry, community and regulatory bodies.

Evidence of an established research reputation, a strong track record of teaching excellence and experience leading quality course development are also required.
