Senior Teaching Fellow

Full Time

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8.

The salary range will be £43,884 - £51,769 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The Centre is seeking to appoint a Senior Teaching Fellow whose main focus will be in the professional development, recognition and resources pillar of activity. They will be enhancing the support offered to staff through the Arena Programme, which is an AdvanceHE accredited professional development programme, and in the development of resources to support inclusive assessment across UCL.

The role may be appropriate to individuals wishing to move into a career in educational development, building on their previous experience teaching in Higher Education (in any discipline).

This post is key to the success of the UCL Arena Programme, which provides opportunities for all staff to engage in developmental events and activities and to gain recognition for their teaching with a UCL Arena fellowship, accredited by AdvanceHE. The postholder will have a particular responsibility for our mentoring scheme for UCL Arena Fellowship applicants, our Arena Open Fellowship recognition processes, and our Arena Open events and workshops to support both the Fellowship process and the wider academic development of UCL academic and professional services staff.

In addition, the successful candidate will participate in strategic initiatives to enhance the quality of education and the student experience at UCL more widely, with a particular emphasis on development of material to support high quality and inclusive assessment and feedback.

The candidate should be educated to masters level (or equivalent) with a teaching-related qualification (e.g. Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, FHEA).

Hold extensive experience of teaching in higher education (in any subject). Experience of applying scholarship to inform advice and guidance provided to colleagues.

Experience of designing and delivering assessment and feedback within HE, and an understanding of the opportunities and restrictions in developing inclusive assessments and delivering high quality feedback.
