Following the University Executive Board’s commitment to investing in the establishment of Chemical Engineering in the University of Southampton, building upon and complementing the University’s internationally leading Schools of Engineering and Chemistry, applications are invited from candidates with a proven track record of research and education to contribute to this initiative. Chemical Engineering will sit within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, with strong interactions across both Chemistry and Engineering. 

You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with a highly respected and successful track record at this career stage. The post holder will be required to teach Chemical Engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to undertake leadership, management and engagement activities.  A proven track record of internationally recognised research, a well-developed research vision and the ability to attract research funding in an area that complements existing research in the Faculty is essential;  Strong industrial links, accreditation experience and/or programme development are also desirable.

The position is available from September 2019

The appointee will benefit from the University's recent and ongoing investment in infrastructure across the campus to underpin its strategic priorities, including major investment in Chemistry, and to enable delivery of innovative new collaborative and interdisciplinary research and education agendas.
