About the team

The University of Western Australia established Australia’s first degree in Sport and Exercise Science and foundation staff were integral to the establishment of the Australian Institute of Sport and its state based satellite institutes. About the opportunity

We are looking to appoint a motivated, driven and passionate academic in the area of maximising human performance in/through physical activity, exercise or sport. You will have a strong academic background and research agenda within a cognate sub-discipline of the Human Sciences (i.e., physiology, biomechanics, psychology, skill acquisition, biochemistry, nutrition, etc.). You will possess a skill set and desire to motivate multi-disciplinary teams to operate collaboratively across numerous projects of scale, with a focus on research translation into industry at a state, national, and international level.

In this position, you will supervise Honours, Masters, and PhD students, and will engage with industry, and where relevant, government stakeholders. It is also expected that you will provide leadership into the School’s education portfolio including curriculum development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You will contribute to the core service activities of the School and Faculty and to the University’s community and engagement outreach activities.
