The Pro Vice Chancellor Students portfolio encompasses a dynamic and fast-paced award winning university careers service which is reframing its structures to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in employability.  The Graduate Career Development and Employability (GCDE) unit supports the career development needs of more than 17,000 students annually through 400 programs.  

Careers Central is working across UOW to provide opportunities for students to engage in work integrated learning opportunities within their degree.  We provide key learning opportunities for students through our curricular and co-curricular programs with a focus on Career Development Learning, entrepreneurship and employability. We’re strategic in our actions and we aim to create career ready graduates who are resilient and able to embrace the changing world of work.

Strengthening and developing relationships with employer communities is critical to improved employability for the student community of the University of Wollongong. The Business Development Coordinator will take a leading role in strengthening our employer engagement strategies to enhance capability and capacity to support the strategic directions of PVCS Division and the University.

The Coordinator will secure and grow a strong suite of placements and industry projects for undergraduate and postgraduate domestic and international students. The appointee will develop appropriate planning, strategy and policy to support these and other GCD&E activities.  We seek a person with passion and commitment to further develop our university – industry interface.
