Associate Professor in Coastal Systems Engineering

About the role

The School of Environment, Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Coastal Systems Engineering to lead innovative undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in coastal and floodplain engineering as part of a growing, systems-focused engineering team. The appointee will provide academic leadership as Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Coastal Systems Engineering course and develop and lead research activities in coastal engineering.

Key aspects of this position also include industry and community engagement, supervision of Higher Degree by Research students and manage accreditation activities for the Coast Systems Engineering course.

About you

You will hold a relevant doctoral qualification and bring to this role a successful track record of research and teaching in coastal marine and floodplain systems. You will be committed to enhancing the student experience and graduate outcomes, and have experience in innovate curriculum development utilising contemporary learning technologies in a university environment. Your teaching history will demonstrate your success teaching advanced hydraulics, hydrology and sediment transport (or similar subjects) in a university environment

Your experience will demonstrate your ability to foster positive relationships and engagement with relevant industry, community and regulatory bodies and promote excellence in teaching and research.
