The School of Humanities at Coventry University is recruiting for two positions in Sociology to join our academic team. We are looking for a Lecturer and an Assistant Professor. Both positions are on a permanent basis and require a passion for teaching coupled with particular interest in two or more of the following areas: race, sports, disability, youth, community and education, community arts, and culture and voluntary sector engagement.
We are particularly interested in candidates with the vision to address the demands of teaching in the 21st century who recognise the need for new ways of engaging with the subject and how this new pedagogy can be explored and developed creatively through new technologies. Knowledge of higher education processes is important and experience of teaching through workshops, seminars, lectures, and assessment is essential to the role. Successful candidates will contribute to the development and enhancement of the school's research agenda and reputation for student success.
Our mission is to ensure that we provide a challenging, stimulating and highly rewarding educational experience for our students and to produce graduates that are equipped to engage with the diverse and varied opportunities available for specialists in Sociology.
