Lecturer in German and Comparative Literature (Academic Education Pathway)
The Department of German and the Department of Comparative Literature are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in German and Comparative Literature, tenable for one year from 1 September 2019. The successful candidate will teach on a range of undergraduate and MA modules on German and Comparative European Literatures, 18th Century German Thought, the Faust tradition, and approaches to comparative and world literature. The post-holder will be involved in personal tutoring and academic administration and will also be expected to supervise BA and MA dissertations. They will play a full part in the intellectual life of both Departments.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field of literature in hand by the start date and relevant experience of undergraduate teaching. Expertise in 18th C German Literature and Thought will be an advantage.
