CEITEC MU Director opens a position of laboratory technician/lab manager for research group Structural Biology.

Position of laboratory technician/lab manager is open for the research group Structural Biology at CEITEC Masaryk university. The research group studies the role of RNA in gene expression, development and human diseases. The laborabotory is establishing an isotope laboratory for NMR studies and the development of new strategies for the preparation of isotopically labelled proteins in eukaryotic cells. Job description

• responsibility for day-to-day operation of the lab including the basic management of laboratory resources
• preparation of various media and buffers
• cultivation of bacterial and human cell culture
• share in performance of various molecular biology and biochemistry experiments (cloning, purification of proteins, and others)
• own`s miniprojects in field of molecular biology

Requirements

• education (high school or university degree) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or other related fields of life-sciences
• knowledge of "laboratory chemistry" – preparation of solutions with defined concentrations, adjusting pH, preparation of media for bacterial cultures etc.
• experience with basic techniques of molecular biology and biochemistry such as cell PCR, cloning, purification of proteins, RNA-based techniques and others is a big plus
• good knowledge of English (oral and written)
• computer literacy, MS Word, Excel
• high motivation, flexibility, interest to learn new things, multitasking
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player
• reliability, thoroughness
